<불의 손길 Touched by Fire> 

이 세 영상은 미국 켈리포니아주, 시에라 네바다에 있는 한 실험 숲에서 행해진 통제된 산불에 대한 열화상 사진술, 디지털 동영상, 그리고 우리의 숲에 보내는 연서로서의 담화, 그리고 디지털 기록물들을 담고 있다. 그 내용은 부분적으로는 과학이고, 시이며, 또 개인적인 이야기이다. 이 영상들은 ‘통제된 산불’의 과학과 예술에 대한 기록물을 촬영했다. 예술가들과 과학자들이 우리의 숲을 복원하기 위하여 통제된 산불을 이용하는 과정을 더 잘 이해하기 위하여 협력했다.

These three videos include thermal photography, digital video and narratives as love letters to our forests, and digital documentations of a Prescribed Burn taking place in an Experimental Forest in Sierra Nevada, California, USA. The text is part science, part poetry and personal narrative. The films produced document the science and art of the prescribed burn. Artists and scientists collaborating to better understand the process of using prescribed fires to shape and restore our forests.
