2012 금강자연미술비엔날레 개막식에서는 식전행사로 퍼포먼스를 공연 할 예정입니다.

김석환 작가님과 이명환 작가님 총 두 작가님께서 약 15분 동안 퍼포먼스를 진행하실 예정이고,

내용은 아래와 같습니다.

“자연일기 - 네가 서야 할 자리”

문명의 야망을 위해 자연들이 서서히 사라지고 있다.

이곳에 있던 그 많은 나무들은 어디서 온 것이고 어디로 갈 것인가

나무 위에 하얗게 핀 꽃은 바람에 부서지고

흙 속에서 꿈틀대던 뿌리들이 숨을 멈추기 시작한다.

빛이 내려와 흙기둥을 만든다.

그 기둥 속에서 물들은 흐르다 굳고

줄기와 땅과 뿌리는 비로소 하나가 된다.

쓰러지거나 패이지 않는 태초의 자연으로 남는다.

작가 김석환은 인간의 논리적 체계를 전면 부정하며 ‘원초적 생명력의 질서’로 초점을 맞추고 있다. 김석환의 작업의 전개는 새 생명의 잉태와 새로운 삶의 탄생을 염원하는 제의식과도 같은 경건함을 주며 때로는 생명의 노래, 생명의 시를 시각화해가는 과정으로 이어진다. 그의 오브제는 자연물과 인공물, 즉 일상의 실용적 가치를 상실한 오브제들이나 그의 설치 작업에서 이러한 것들은 강한 상징적 의미를 갖는 일종의 제기와도 같은 신성스러운 위상을 띠고 있다. 이것은 작가의 생명의 가치에 대한 절대적 존엄성과 삶의 거듭나기의 기획에 대한 염원이 그의 작업에 근리를 이루고 있기 때문일 것이다.

The artist Seuck Whan Kim denies man’s rationality and focuses on the regularity of a more basic state of unspoiled life. This attitude is a strong action against the dilemmas of modern industrial society, and it comes from critical thinking about the false aspects of our reality today. It presents a return to a simplistic primitive life as well as the means to achieve it. In other words, the problems of modernism are understood to be a process of suffering to prepare for rebirth. His work boosts and sublimates a desire for a stronger sense of which can overcome such problems. The fact that immutable laws exist in the myth of a lost ‘natural life’ (the category of transmigration of birth and death) doesn’t mean that this law allows humans to possess idle thoughts and to become irresponsible. Rather, the law reconfirms our ideas to become witnesses of our period and to hold our responsibilities for our own lifetime as makers of our history.

2. 이명환 Lee, Myung-hwan - 환경 퍼포먼스 ( 3분 공연)

“수족관 코트” / Performance “Mobile Aquarium Coat”, 2011

나의 퍼포먼스는 자연환경 파괴로 심각해져가는 지구 온난화와 이상기후 환경문제 현안들에 대해 Positive +Negative적 접근방식을 통한 해결안을 제시하고자 한다. 이는 수족관 코트에 담겨진 금붕어를 통하여 환경을 보호해야 한다는 것과 인간들이 이윤 추구의 논리에 입각한 소유 및 개발을 감행하는 순간부터 자연은 파괴된다는 의미를 담고 있다. 감상자들은 모바일 수족관을 접하는 순간  “담겨진 금붕어가 불쌍하다”, 또는 길고 가는 튜브 관으로 공기를 불어넣어주는 행위를 통하여 “금붕어를 보호하는구나 ”라는 작품의 각각의 관점을  읽게 될 것이다. 하지만 역설적으로 금붕어가 보는 이 세상의 시각은 어떨까에 대한 관람객들의 생각을 이끌어내고자 하는 것이 이 작품이 갖는 의도이다.

The conceptual point of my performance is to present a discourse on finding a solution to current devastating problems of global warming incurred by the destruction of our natural environment and abnormal climate problems using a Positive+Negative perspective. The goldfish in an Aquarium Coat presents an argument for protecting our environment (material and immaterial) where the destruction of nature begins from the moment of ownership and development for profit.…
