한적한 자연 공간에서 작업에 몰두 할 수 있는 환경을 제공하고 있는 야투자연미술국제레지던스프로그램은 동시대를 살아가는 작가들이 서로의 예술 세계를 접하고 교류하기 위하여 (사)한국자연미술가협회-야투에 의해 2009년부터 운영되고 있다.

본 레지던스 프로그램에 참여하는 작가들은 1981년 이후 지금까지 자연 속에서 작업하고 있는 야투그룹 작가들의 작품세계를 접할 수 있으며, 다양한 문화권에서 온 작가들이 자연에 대한 각기 다른 시각을 바탕으로 새로운 미술적 실 험을 해나가는 가운데 서로의 생각을 교류하고 전시하는 기회를 가지게 될 것이다.

환경파괴로 인해 생태계가 교란되고 그로 인한 자연 재해가 극심해지고 있는 이때 야투자연미술국제레지던스프로그램이 자연과 인간이 상생의 조화를 이루어 낼 수 있는 새로운 자연미술미학을 함께 발전시키는 계기가 되길 바란다.

YATOO International Artist in Residence Program, operated by the Korean Artists’ Association-YATOO, provides an environment in which artists are able to concentrate on their artwork while surrounded by beautiful, tranquil nature in order for artists from all over the world to mutually interact and exchange artstic views.

Artists participating in this residency program may encounter the world of nature art created by the artists – the members of YATOO - who have been working in nature and have an opportunity to exhibit and exchange their insights with a new artistic study based on different views about nature.

As the ecosystem deteriorates because of environmental destruction, this residency program hopes to find a way to develop new nature art aesthetics to create co-existing harmony between humans and nature.
