<징의 여정 Zing's Joueney>

2000년 1월 1일 대학로 마로니에 공원. 징은 새천년을 향한 군중들의 기대와 염원 속에서 처음 모습을 드러냈다. 그로부터 20년이 지난 지금까지 때로는 인간의 손길이 닿지 않은 자연에서, 때로는 인간의 욕망이 밀집된 거리에서 긴 여정을 이어왔다. 원시의 시간을 소환하는 공룡알의 형상은 과거와 현재의 경계를 허물며 오래된 미래를 꿈꿔왔다.

자연의 질서를 경시한 결과로 인간이 초래한 팬데믹. 공주 연미산 중턱에 새롭게 둥지를 튼 징은 그 어느 때보다 스스로의 나약함과 무기력함을 절감하고 있는 우리에게 경종을 울린다. 징이 지닌 근원적인 생명의 에너지는 주어진 환경에 위화감 없이 녹아들어 긴밀히 호응하는 가운데, 무엇도 해치지 않은 채 새로운 탄생을 묵묵히 준비한다. 이번 징의 여정은 자연과 인간의 상생을 묵시적으로 웅변하고 문명의 이기와 인간의 욕망이 나아갈 방향을 재고해볼 기회가 되길 바란다.

Marronnier Park in Daehak-ro on January 1, 2000. The 'Zing' first appeared in the crowd's expectations and aspirations for the new millennium. Twenty years have passed since then, and it has been a long journey, sometimes in nature untouched by humans, and sometimes in the streets where human desires are concentrated. The shape of a dinosaur egg that recalls primitive time has broken the boundaries between the past and the present, and dreamed of a long time future.

A human-caused pandemic as a result of disregard for the natural order. The 'Zing', in the new nest of Yeonmisan, Gongju, raises an alarm for us who are more aware of our own weakness and helplessness than ever before. The fundamental life energy of the 'Zing' melts into the given environment without any sense of incongruity and responds closely, while silently preparing for a new birth without harming anything. I hope the ‘Zing’s Journey' will be an opportunity to implicitly elucidate the coexistence of nature and humans, and to reconsider the direction of civilization's self-interest and human desire.
