숨 쉬는 비밀정원

숨 쉬는 비밀정원은 두 개의 입구 속 공간 안에 만들어진 질서를 지키고 깨는 등 자유로운 감상이 가능하다. 이는 공간 속에 새로운 공간을 만들어 관람과 표현의 관계성을 설정해 볼 수 있다. 자연의 질감과 인공적인 재료의 만남은 다각적인 공간 안에 자연과 인공의 관계를 조명하여 본질적인 우주의 순환과 마주하게 된다. 연속되는 공간 중앙에는 자연과 인공이 하나로 연결된 무덤의 형상을 볼 수 있다. 이끼로 둘러싸여 있는 이것은 자라나는 식물과 이미 죽어 있는 식물, 그리고 인공으로 만들어진 식물이 고스란히 담겨 있다. 서로가 뒤엉켜 위로 자라날 뿐 아니라 옆으로 퍼져 나가는데, 옆으로 자라는 것은 자연과 함께 더불어 살아가야 하는 우리의 모습을 비춰볼 수 있다. 비춰지는 거울 앞에 놓인 우리의 모습은 그 곳에 함께 있는 식물과 ‘조화’를 이루고, ‘하나’가 아닌 ‘더불어’를 지향하는 자연의 근원적 본성을 깨닫고 함께 참여하여 자연의 대한 희망의 메시지를 담아본다. 작업은 단지 이곳에서 끝나는 것이 아니다. 자연의 소중함을 관객이 직접 아이비 식물을 개별적으로 가져가게 함으로 자연의 소중함을 느끼게 한다. 이것은 관람에서만 끝나는 것이 아니라 전시가 끝난 이후에도 연속적으로 이어진다.

Breathing Secret Garden
’Breathing Secret Garden’ can be appreciated freely because the plants collapse one another in the two openings, and the plants break out the order made in the space made by themselves. It makes another new space in the space which it already made, so we can establish the relationship between the inspection and the expression. Encountering the substantial circulation space and the intrinsic relationship between natural and artificial of one trillion people in the space of a multi-disciplinary meeting of the natural and the artificial materials. Continuous space in the center has a road covered by moss which expresses the continuity between our modern lives and the world after the death. In the grave meaning ‘death’, there is a plant which is growing up by the nutrient that was made by another dying plant. The plants are growing not only vertically but also horizontally. The plants which are growing horizontally mean that we cannot exist alone and we should help each other in our society. We show us a mirror which reflects ourselves. It means the lessons from the nature which teaches us that we should “cooperate” with each other, and should exist not “alone” but “together.”
We will make the audience realize the importance of the nature by letting them take the Ivy plants after appreciating this art. It will not be finished in this show, but it will continue until this exhibition finishes.
