네메톤 Nemeton

“네메톤”이라는 명칭은 “성역”을 고안했던 프랑스 단어에서 기원한다.

우리는 자연의 영혼이 드러날 수 있는 신성한 장소를 실현시키고자 한다. 이 건축학적 장소는 땅에서 솟아난 것처럼 목재를 사용하지 않은 형태로 주변 자연과 조화를 이룬다. 주변의 나무, 돌과 같은 풍광 속에서 함께 진화한다.

우리가 선택한 재료들은 다양한 크기의 나무 기둥과 장선들이다. 우리는 이러한 유기적이지만 “이미 가공된” 재료들을 사용함으로써, 부자연스러운 목적을 위해 인간에 의해 취해지고 변형된 것들을 다시 자연으로 돌려 놓으려 한다. 어떠한 부분에서, 이 설치물은 실현 가능하기 때문에, 경관에 대한 사색적 포인트를 제공할 수 있다.

The name “Nemeton” comes from the gallic word that designed the “sanctuary”.

We want to realize a sacred place where the soul of nature could come out. This architectural place is made of a wooden free form that springs from the ground, and in harmony with the nature around, evolves in the surrounding landscape, going to include trees, rocks and so on.

The material we have chosen are wooden beams and joists of variable size. We use this organic but “already processed” material to give back to nature what was taken from it and transformed by man for an unnatural use. In some parts the installation will be practicable and therefore itself will offer points for the contemplation of the landscape.
