​<메신저 The Messenger>

나는 목재, 돌, 진흙, 테라코타, 스크레이프, 쇠 등의 여러 가지 재료를 가지고 작업을 한다. 그러나 내 작업의 아이디어는 자연이 우리와 어떻게 연결되어 있는가에 대한 것이다. 최근에 ‘메신저’라는 작업을 즐겨 하고 있다.

‘메신저’는 말을 조각한 작품이다. 나는 깎은 나무, 자갈, 쇠를 이용하여 말을 제작한다. 형태는 인도 구자라트에 사는 부족민들이 숭배하는 테라코타로 만든 말 상을 닮은 것이다. 작품은 미니멀리즘 건축양식과 은유적인 형태를 결합한 것이다. 나는 재료와 형태에서 자연과 도시를 융합하려고 한다.

부족민의 말은 단순한 기하학적인 원통형 모습에 약간의 실제 형상들을 결합한 것이다.

My working with various material like wood, stone, clay, terracotta, scrape, iron, but every time the idea of my work is based on how nature is connected with us. And I like to do work on my recent composition which work title is “The messenger”.

The messenger is sculpture of horse. I like to use scrape of wood, pebble stone and iron for armature for horse sculpture. The form of sculpture is based on the iconic figure of a tribal terracotta horse which is used for worship by tribal people in Gujarat(India). form of sculpture is a combination of minimalistic architectural and figurative form. I am trying to merge nature and urbenigestion through the form as well as material it self.

The tribal figure of the horse made a simple geometric cylindrical form and some realistic details.
