​<벅스 호스텔 The Bugs Hostel>

벅스 호스텔은 곤충과 숲속 동물들을 위한 어떤 공간들을 만드는 유기적이고 자연적인 설치작품이다. 벅스 호스텔은 연못, 식물이 자라거나 이끼나 곰팡이가 뿌리를 내리기 위한 벽과 같은 다양한 요소들을 담고 있는 생태계 저장소라고 정의할 수 있다. 이 작품은 수많은 동굴과 바위로 형성된 터키 카파도키아 지방의 지형에서 영감을 얻은 것이다. 이것은 미적인 조형 작품과 종의 다양성 보존을 위해 필요한 곤충들과 작은 생물들의 보호와 같은 환경의 보존에 유용한 요소 사이의 혼합된 작품이다. 작품은 전적으로 자연 재료로만 제작되었다. 그래서 환경을 오염시키는 현대 재료들을 대체할 수 있는 고대의 환경친화적 건축기술을 사용했다.

이 작품은 자연의 풍경을 해치지 않고 풍경의 속으로 들어간다. 작품은 이곳에서 구할 수 있는 재료를 사용한다. 이 작품은 숲에 사는 모든 생물, 그들의 존재 때문에 우리 인간이 생존하게 되는 모든 생물에게 선사한다. ‘벅스 호스텔’은 가장 약하고 종의 다양성에 가장 취약한 생물들의 진정한 피난처이고, 인간에게 이로운 곤충들의 호텔이다… 이 곤충의 집은 충매수분(虫媒受粉)을 도와준다. 인간은 벌목, 이산화탄소 배출, 오염이 가져올 끔찍한 결과를 생각하지 않고 자기 이익을 위해 건물을 지어왔다. 이 설치작품은 곤충들의 도시 같은 것이다. 동물들의 공간과 품위를 회복시키기 위한 공간이다. 이 공간은 물론 숲속에 설치할 수도 있고, 곤충들이 인간 중심의 환경에서 생존하는 것을 돕기 위해 도시에 설치할 수도 있다.

The bugs hostel is an organic and natural installation that creates different spaces for insects and woodland creatures. The bugs hostel can be define as an ecosystem container that hosts various elements, such as water pools, natural pots for plant growth, walls for the rooting of moss and fungi. The work is inspired by the landscapes of the Cappadocia region, and it is an hybrid between aesthetic sculpture and an element useful for the care of the environment: the protection of insects and small species necessary for the survival of biodiversity. The work is made entirely of natural materials, so becomes a tribute to the ancient bioconstruction techniques that can replace modern polluting materials. It fits into the natural landscape without causing damage, and it is made with local materials. the work wants to be a tribute to the creatures of the forest and to all the animals whose existence allows us to live. The Bugs Hostel is a real refuge for the weakest species and most vulnerable to the lack of biodiversity. is the hotel of beneficial insects.... This insect house is a support for entomophilic pollination. The human being has always built buildings for his benefit, without thinking of the devastation that deforestation, emissions, polluting materials would have caused. this installation is like a city of insects and wants to restore space and dignity to the animal world. It can be built in the woods but also (and most) in the cities, to help insects survive in the humanized environment.
