제안된 작업은 운석의 충돌로 생기는 것과 비슷한 모양인 지름 8m, 깊이 2m 정도의 분화구를 형성하는 것으로 구성되어 있다. 분화구 중앙에는 약 2.5m 높이의 세워진 돌이 심겨 있을 것이다. 단일석 안에는 다양한 식물, 동물, 인간의 유기화합물을 담은 일종의 타임캡슐이 놓여있다. 이 단일 분화구 부지는 미래에 대해 궁금해하고, 질문하고, 새로운 생각을 투영할 수 있는 잠재적인 새로운 만남의 장소를 제공할 수 있다.

개념:

인류가 생겨난 이래로, 우리는 하늘을 쳐다보고, 별을 관찰하고, 우주의 거대한 광활함 속에서 우리의 위치를 이해하려고 노력해왔다. 이미 고대에는 많은 문화와 종교가 혜성, 소행성, 유성체와 같은 떨어지는 바위들에 대한 특이하고 특별한 사건들을 기록했다. 이러한 기이한 현상들은 여전히 인간의 마음과 관계하고 있지만, 돌이 왜 하늘에서 떨어지고 어디서 왔는지에 대해 이해하기까지는 오랜 시간이 걸렸다. 수 세기 동안, 하늘의 불덩어리들과 운석들은 신성하고 초자연적인 기원으로 여겨져 왔다. 이것들은 숭배되었지만 두려운 존재였고, 많은 종교에서 떨어진 운석과 같은 사건들은 종말론으로 다루어지며 심판의 날로 여겨졌다.

오늘날, 우리는 과학을 통해 인류가 진화하고 물질이 원자들로 이루어져 있다는 사실과 지구상의 모든 생명체가 공통의 조상을 공유하고 관측 가능한 우주의 나이가 거의 138억 년이라는 사실들에 대한 발생의 원인을 알고 있다. "생명의 기원"은 아직 밝혀지지 않은 과학적인 질문이고, 판스페르미아나 리토판스퍼미아 같은 가설은 새로운 해답을 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 논의에 따르면, 생명체는 우주의 다른 부분들에서 생겨났을 수 있고 암석 속의 미생물의 행성 간 이동을 통해 행성에서 다른 행성으로 퍼졌을 수도 있다. 우주선 같은 돌 기념비와 매우 유사한 선사시대 거대 구조물이나 멘히르(수직으로 배열된 돌)가 하늘에 있는 불덩어리인 "날아다니는 바위"에서 영감을 받았을 가능성이 있다. 종교, 장례 또는 종교 묘사로 세워진 이 기념비들의 역할은 여전히 추측으로 남아있다. 그러나 이 수직 배열된 돌 "우주선 모조품"은 미지의 것, 위의 별, 우주를 탐험하고 싶은 호기심을 나타낼 수 있다.

지구 역사상 다섯 번의 대규모 멸종이 있었다. 약 2억 5천만년 전 페름기는 최악의 시기 중 하나였다. 이때 전체 종의 96%가 멸종된 것으로 추정된다. 현재 우리는 6번째 주요 멸종을 목격하고 있는 것처럼 보일 수도 있는데, 그것은 인간인 우리에 의해 야기된 것이다. 인간의 진화로 인해 상당수의 종이 멸종하고 있는데, 이는 산업혁명으로 시작되었지만, 가장 충격적인 것은 우리 스스로 멸종을 일으키려 한다는 것이다. 자본주의의 발달로 모든 것이 무한 성장, 경쟁, 생산, 소비라는 개념에 종속됐다. 자연을 지배하기 위해서, 전 세계를 지배하기 위해서, 소수의 이익을 위해 이용 가능한 모든 자원을 이용하기 위해서. 보다시피 '전체주의 경제' 체제인 자본주의는 우리 세계를 창조하고 형성하며, 우리는 비참과 빈곤에서 기후 변화에 이르기까지 그 영향에 점점 직면하고 있다.

상황이 악화하고 있는 지금, 자연과 지구, 세계를 구하는 것에 대해 설교하는 것이 유행되었다. 우리는 이러한 매우 인간 중심적이고 이기적인 견해를 가지기 쉽지만, 자연은 우리를 필요로 하지 않는다. 우리는 자연이 필요하다. 이 행성은 지난 45억 4천만 년 동안 스스로 돌보고 있으며, 태양이 이 행성을 흡수하기 전까지 75억 년 동안 그렇게 할 것이다. 우리는 행성에 무관심해야 하고, 자연이 인간의 현실에서 벗어나게 해야 한다. 우리는 단지 살기 더 아름다운 곳과 그렇게 할 수 있는 적절한 자연환경을 갖기를 바란다. 인간과 자연 간의 관계는 논란의 여지가 있다. 우리가 이데올로기를 없애려고 할 때 우리는 항상 자연을 말하지만, 사실은 그 반대라는 뜻이고 자연은 이데올로기가 된다. 우리가 자연이라고 부르는 것은 서양과 동양을 막론하고 부와 발전을 위해 끊임없이 이용당해 왔고, 이익을 위한 원천보다 자연을 중시하는 인류문화는 없었다. 그러나 자연에 대한 숭배는 인간이 만든 모든 파괴를 끝내기에는 충분하지 않다.

Description:

The proposed work consists of forming a crater of about 8 m in diameter and 2 m deep in the ground, a similar shape that is caused by the impact of a meteorite. In the middle of the crater a monolith, a standing stone would be “planted” with a height of approx. 2.5 m. Inside the monolithic stone, a sort of time capsule would be placed, containing organic compounds from the remains of various plants, animals, and humans. This monolithic crater site could offer a potential new meeting place to wonder, ask questions, and project new ideas into the future.

Concept:

Since the dawn of humanity, we have looked up at the sky, observed the stars, and tried to understand our place in this immense vastness of the universe. Already in ancient times, many cultures and religions recorded such unusual and special events as falling rocks - comets, asteroids, meteoroids. These strange phenomena still concern the human mind, but it took a long time before it was understood why do stones fall from the sky and where they come from. For many centuries, fireballs in the sky (meteor or falling star – the glowing object when a meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere) and meteorites (any piece of a meteoroid that reaches the ground) have been considered to be of divine and supernatural origin. They were worshipped but feared, and in many religions, such events were considered apocalyptic, the Day of Judgement.

Today, due to science we know the causes for such occurrences, including the fact that species evolve and matter is made up of atoms, that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor and that the age of the observable universe is nearly 13.8 billion years. The “origin of life” is still an open scientific question, hypotheses such as panspermia or lithopanspermia (also similar to the idaea of exogenesis) may provide a new answer. According to these ideas, life may have originated in other parts of the universe and may have spread from one planet to another through the interplanetary transfer of microorganisms in rocks. It may be possible that some prehistoric megalithic structures or menhirs (vertically arranged standing stones) that are very similar to some spaceship-like stone monuments were inspired by the “flying rocks” – fireballs in the sky. The role of these erected monuments, in addition to their religious, funeral, or cult depictions, remains still speculative. But these vertically arranged stone "spaceship imitations" could just as well represent the curiosity to explore the unknown, the stars above, the universe.

There have been five major mass extinctions in the history of the Earth. The Permian Period, about 250 million years ago, was one of the worst. It is estimated that 96% of all species became extinct. In the present, it might seem that we are witnessing the sixth major extinction and it is caused by us, humans. A significant number of species are extinct due to human evolution, the worst part began with the Industrial Revolution, but the most shocking is that we are about to cause our own extinction. With the development of capitalism, everything has been subordinated to the ideas of infinite growth, competition, production, and consumption. To rule nature, the whole world, to exploit all available resources for the benefit of the few. As can be seen, capitalism, a "totalitarian economic" system, creates and shapes our world and we are increasingly confronted with its effects, from misery and poverty to climate change.

And now that things are getting worse, it has become more fashionable to preach about saving nature and the planet, the world. We are prone to this very anthropocentric and selfish view but nature doesn't need us, we need it. The planet has been taking care of itself for the last 4.54 billion years and it will probably continue to do so for another 7.5 billion years before the Sun absorbs it. We don't care about the planet, we keep nature outside of human reality. We just want to have a more beautiful place to live and a suitable natural environment to do so. Man’s relationship with nature is controversial. When we try to get rid of ideologies, we always refer to nature, but in fact, it means the opposite, and nature becomes an ideology. What we call nature has been constantly, brutally exploited for wealth and development, regardless of West or East, and no human culture has valued it more than a source for profit. The worship of nature is however not enough to put an end to all man-made destruction.
