​<나무로 이주당한 물고기 Forced Migration of Fish in Trees> 

모든 생명체는 원시의 바다에서 생겨났다. 또한 물은 영적 정화의 힘을 가진 것으로 여겨지고 있으며, 살아있는 모든 것들에 대한 끊임없는 재생의 상징이기도 하다. 그래서 여러 고대 문명들에서 물은 광범위한 상징의 대상이었다는 것은 놀라운 일이 아니다. 궁극적으로, 물은 생명의 근원이었으며, 생명을 유지하고, 확장하는 것이 물에 달려있었다.

물에 사는 가장 보편적이고, 다양한 종류의 생물인 물고기는 두 가지의 상반되는 관점으로 볼 수 있다.: 잡아먹히는 존재 혹은 잡아먹는 포식자로 볼 수 있지만, 바닷속에서 생명의 균형을 위해서는 그 두 가지 모습이 모두 필요하다. 인간에게 물고기는 건강한 식량의 중요한 원천이면서 또한 물고기의 여러 형태, 색상, 습성은 찬양의 대상이기도 하다.

나의 작품은 자신들의 서식처가 입은 피해에 대한 물고기들의 항의에 대한 예술적 가설이다.

인간에 의한 과도한 수질오염 때문에 물고기들이 바다에서 더는 살 수 없는 곳이 될 때, 절정에 도달한다.

나의 예술적인 상상 속에서 물고기는 지옥 같은 바다를 견디지 못하고 숲으로 이주를 한다. 물고기는 숲에서 적응하며 살아가고 번식한다.

우리 인간은 물을 오염시키고 모든 것을 파괴한다. 우리는 우리의 행동을 바꾸어야 한다. 깨끗한 환경을 만들고, 물의 오염을 되돌려야 한다. 그래서 물고기가 물에 되돌아오도록 만들어야 한다. 우리가 서둘러 오염을 멈추지 않으면, 우리는 전 지구를 파멸시킬 것이다.

All creatures arose from the primordial waters. Also, water is considered by many with the gift of spiritual purification and is a symbol of continuous reproduction of all that is alive. It is therefore not surprising that in ancient civilizations, water was the subject of widespread symbolism. Ultimately, it was the very source of life and it was up to it maintain, continue, and expand it.

Fish, the most widespread and diverse inhabitants of the waters, can be viewed in two opposite ways: as prey and/or predators, sometimes ferocious, but both forms are strictly necessary for the balance of life in the depths. For humans, they are not only an important source of healthy food, but also of admiration for the huge diversity of shapes, colors, and behavior, but also of mediation on the meanders of life.

My work is an artistic fiction about the protest of the fish whose habitat is being damaged.

Due to excessive pollution and human poisoning of the planet's waters, a climax will be reached at some point when they will no longer be good for a viable home for the creatures of these waters.

In my artistic thinking, fish have to migrate forcibly from this infernal environment to the trees of the planet where they will find protection and adapt to a new environment conducive to the living and reproduction of species.

We humans are guilty of all the damage done to the Earth, polluting the waters and destroying everything. We need to take action on ourselves, correct our behavior, create a pure environment, so that we have a cleaner planet with unpolluted water, and fish migrate back, where they feel like in the primordial waters. If we do not rush to stop pollution, we will hasten the end, destroying the whole Earth.

<숲의 눈 The Eyes of the forest>

내 작품은 위험에 처한 모든 나무의 슬픔과 고통을 담은 한 그루의 나무다. 나무들의 고통에 대하여 사람들은 무관심하다. 나무 한 그루 한 그루는 각자의 역할이 있고, 성취해야 할 사명이 있다. 나무들은 우리를 보호해 준다. 내 작품 속의 나무는 눈물을 흘리고 소리를 내 운다. 그 가지들은 붉어진다. 나는 나뭇잎 대신에 금속제 눈들을 붙여서 나무를 의인화했다. 나뭇잎이 떨어지면, 눈은 붉게 충혈된다. 나무의 슬픔은 은밀하고, 소리가 없다. 나의 작품 속 나무의 이미지는 우리에게 감정이입을 하게 한다. 나무의 소리 없는 울음은 우리에게 너무 늦기 전에 자연에 의지하고 있는 우리 자신의 처지를 깨닫도록 하고 있다.

지구에서 전반적인 발전 양상의 상황은 ‘나무’라는 위대한 선물을 해치는 방향으로 나아간다. 자연이 파괴되고 있는 현상은 과학과 기술의 진화로 인해 점점 더 두드러지고 있다.

생태적 균형을 지키지 않음으로써 생기는 기후변화 때문에 극심한 가뭄과 파괴적인 홍수가 되풀이된다. 대규모 벌목과 잦은 산불은 인간과 자연 사이의 우정과 존경이 부족하기 때문이다. 나무들은 신비로운 방식으로 서로 소통한다. 벌목공들이 도끼와 전기톱을 가지고 숲에 들어오면, 나무들은 위험이 다가오는 것을 느끼고, 이 급박한 위협을 서로 전달한다. 그들은 소리 없이 슬픔을 노래한다.
이 기념비적 설치 작품을 만들어서, 나는 우리 사회에 직접적인 메시지를 주고 싶다. 자연을 바라보는 관점을 바꾸고, 자연이 인간에게 주는 무한한 혜택을 강조하고자 한다.

My work is a tree that gathers in it the sadness and suffering of all endangered trees. Their suffering is often treated with total indifference. Each tree is a separate individuality and has its own role and a destiny to fulfill. They all protect us. My tree tears, cries, its branches are reddened and its sadness humanizes it by placing metal eyes instead of the missing leaves. With leaves left under him, his eyes are reddened with tears and bleeding. His sadness is intimate and soundless. His image is upsetting and generates a lot of empathy. His deaf cry will have to wake us up to reality until it is not too late to save from nature what we can by saving ourselves who are dependent on nature.

The general evolution of the Earth contributes massively to the degradation of this great gift, the TREE. More and more visible, however, is the involution of nature indirectly determined by man through what is most sublime: the evolution of science and technology.

The cycles of severe drought followed by catastrophic floods belong to the climatic transformations determined by the non-observance of the ecological balance. Intense deforestation and frequent fires are the result of a lack of friendship and respect between man and nature. The trees communicate with each other in a mysterious way. I am like a single being, like a single soul in several trunks. When loggers enter the forest with axes and chainsaws, the trees feel the danger approaching and transmit the imminent threat to each other, singing their lament in silence.

By creating this sculptural work type monumental installation, I want to send a direct message to raise awareness of our contemporary society, changing the perspective with which nature will look from now on, with its values and immeasurable benefits for humanity.
