​<메뚜기 Grasshopper> 

인간은 21세기의 여러 가지 발명품들과 새로운 기술로 인해 자연으로부터 점점 더 멀어지고 있다. 인간은 편리함 때문에 흙, 공기, 불, 물로부터 멀어지고 있다. 물과 공기는 오염되고, 풀밭은 콘크리트로 바뀌고, 숲은 줄어들고, 동물은 통조림 식품이 되어 간다. 자연과의 부조화는 돌이킬 수 없는 결과를 초래한다. 그래서 예술가들은 지구와 더불어 우리 스스로 삶을 어떻게 가꾸어야 할지를 제시해야 한다.

나의 작품은 대나무로 만든 거대한 메뚜기이다. 관람객들은 메뚜기의 머리 부분으로 들어가서 다리로 나온다. 몸의 끝부분은 물속에 있다. 섬세한 날개를 표현하는 지붕과 함께 지붕을 떠받치는 버팀대들과 메뚜기 배의 마디들을 표현하는 선들을 제작한다.

대나무를 자르거나 통째로 사용한다. 천연 밧줄로 구조물을 묶는다. 메뚜기 날개의 아름다운 그물맥들은 대나무를 잘게 쪼개서 설치한다. 중요한 구조적 버팀대들은 튼튼한 대나무 막대기들을 이용해서 만든다.

작품의 내부 공간은 파빌리온(pavilion)같이 어린이들을 위한 자연 학습을 할 수 있으며, 그곳에서 자연을 즐기고 친구들과 대화를 나눌 수 있는 기능적 공간이며, 메뚜기 몸통 양쪽에 긴 대나무 벤치를 설치한 공간이다. 물로 연결되는 다리에서는 혼자 사색하기에 좋다.

In the culture of humanity the 21st century with its innovative inventions and new technologies the intelligent person has yet more alienated from the nature. For the sake of convenience people are ready to say goodbye to earth, air, fire and water. Water and air get polluted, the grass is rolled up with concrete, trees get chopped down, animals turn into canned food, and so on. Disharmony with nature leads to irrevocable consequences, so the artist by their work must show-how to properly treat the planet Earth and our own lives.

Art object represents a huge grasshopper from bamboo. Construction is an architectural structure with the entrance in the head of grasshopper and the exit to the bridge, placed in the water-at the end of the body. Roof construction-delicate wings; struts, supporting the roof, repeating the lines-natural abdominal segments.

As a material for such an ideal form of bambo-whole and split. Natural rope binds the construction. Beautiful venation of the wings will be repeated by split bamboo strips. Important structural components made of solid bamboo poles.

Inside the art object is functional-it is a pavilion, where you can enjoy nature and the pleasant company, and conduct classes for children-this will be a long bamboo benches on both sides of the body inside the structure. The bridge that goes to the water is good for seclusion and meditation.
