​<순환 문제 Cycle Matter> 

 오늘날 우리 사회가 직면한 가장 심각한 문제는 자연과의 단절이다. 특히 자연의 순환과 신화와의 단절이다. 시간은 힘의 은유로 간주되고, 우리는 지구를 통제하기 위해서 자연의 순환을 추상화하고 있다. 이런 관점에서 ‘순환 문제’는 원의 시간(circle time)의 신화로 되돌아가는 것이고, 지상의 모든 존재들의 일상생활에서 우주의 영향을 따르는 시절로 되돌아가는 것이다.

전 세계 여러 사회의 오래된 신화들을 반영하는 태양, 달, 별과 더불어 금속제 원형이 배치될 것이다. 이 작품이 전하는 메시지는 잠시 멈추어 사람들에게 자연의 순환, 우주, 그리고 모든 생명체들과 다시 연결되도록 영감을 주려는 것이다. 이것은 비-패권적 문화들의 신화학적 탐구에 기초를 둔 사변소설 (speculative fiction)적 구조물이다.

The deepest problem we face on our society today is the modern disconnection with nature, specially the cycles and the mythologies around it. The time is considered a metaphor of power, and we are more than ever abstracting the nature cycles to try to control the Earth thinking is just some privileged human necessities. Thinking on this the sculpture "Cycle Matter” look for a return to the myths of circle time and the observation of the influences of the universe in the ground, in the daily life of any being in the Earth. The circular metal form will be aligned with the sun, moon and the stars reflecting shadows in the ground that will reveal again the old myths, from different societies around the world. The message is to look around, stop, and inspire people to connect again with the cycle of nature and the universe, and all being that live here. It is a speculative fiction sculpture based on mythological investigations of non-hegemonical cultures.
