<셸-터 Shell-ter> 

이 작품의 제목은 “셸-터”이며 그 구조는 껍데기(shell)를 바탕으로 한다. 똑바로 서있는 조개로 대나무와 코코넛 줄이나 갈대로 만들었다. 이 작품은 크기가 큰 껍데기로, 사람들이 돔 같은 구조 안으로 들어 자신들을 발견할 수 있고 껍데기 안에서 삶과 느낌을 성찰할 수 있다.

나는 자연에서 이 셸터를 차용했는데 그 이유는 이 셸터가 자연이 만든 가장 단순하고 작은 셸터이기 때문이다. 이 셸터를 인간 크기로 바꾸고 땅에 똑바로 박아놓기 위해서 초현실적인 면을 작품에 도입해야 했으나 하우징을 대하는 신선한 관점을 보여주어야 했다. 옛날 형태들을 사용하기만 해도, 자연 재료들은 자연 샘플과 잘 어울리고 인간은 내심 자연의 일부라고 느낄 수도 있다.

The art work has the title “shell-ter” and the structure is in dead based on a shell. It is a upwards standing shell made from bamboo and coconut rope or reed. It is a over sized shell so humans can enter and find himself in a dome like structure, that reflects the live and feeling inside a shell. I borrowed this shelter from nature because it is the simplest and smallest
nature made shelter at all. To bring it to a human size and stick it upwards into the ground brings a surreal aspect to the work but shows a fresh view towards housing. By simply using ancient forms. Natural materials go well together with a natural sample and humans may feel part of nature inside.
