살아있는 조각 Live Sculpture

현대의 사람들은 자연에 너무 잔인해왔고 우리는 자연을 향한 사람들의 행동이 이기심으로 가득 차 있다는 것을 보아왔다. 그러나 '생명'은 어떤 식으로도 강압할 수 없는 것이다. 이 작품은 강압이라는 한계에 별로 억눌리지 않고 힘차게 성장하는 살아있는 조각이다!

The men of these days has been so cruel to the nature and we have seen that his behavior towards the nature is full of selfishness. But it is seen that the “Life” cannot be imprisoned by any way. So, the present work is a live sculpture which would not pay much attention to its limitations and would grow and grow strongly!

윈드캐쳐(바람잡이 탑) Windcatcher

윈드캐쳐는 사막 거주민들의 건물에 사용된 고대 환기 및 냉각시스템이었다. 현대에 이르러 이것은 전기를 이용한 에어컨시스템이 대체되었다. 우리는 전력생산과 오염이 환경을 위협하고, 가장 비인간적인 방법으로 윈드캐쳐가 쓸모없는 것으로 전락되었다는 것을 상상할 수 있다! 이 작품은 고대 지식과 발명을 인류에게 과감히 상기시키려 한다.

Wind catchers were ancient ventilation and cooling system which was used in the desert habitants buildings. After the start of modernization era, the electric powered air conditioning system were vastly used instead. It can be imagined the threat of electric power generation and pollutions to the environments and the isolation of windcatcher and imposing uselessness to them in the most unhuman way! The present work tries to bold and recall the ancient inventions to humankinds.

환경, 나무, 사람들 Environment, Tree, People

잘려진 나무 몸통들이 질서 정연하게 배열된 모습은 “나무”와 그것이 환경에 미치는 중요한 역할에 대한 추상적 모습이다. 현재의 배열된 모습은 자연에서 제거된 나무 몸통을 사용하며, 예술 작품을 통해 그것들을 재창조함으로써 나무의 필요성과 아름다움을 드러내려 한다. 나는 주로 나뭇가지의 빈 공간들을 통해 “하늘의 색”과 “환경”에 주목해 왔다. 나는 현재 그곳에 존재하는 생명을 표현하기 위해, 나무의 호흡(들숨과 날숨)을 이미지화하는 작업에 있어 최선을 다할 것이다.

작품은 천연 재료를 이용하여 완성될 것이고, 목봉을 조립하는 방식이 될 것이다. 이러한 조립의 형태는 다른 어떠한 방식보다도 안전하고 확실하다.

The coherent arrangement of cut pieces of tree trunks is an abstract look to "Tree" and its important role in the environment. The present arrangement uses deleted tree trunks from the nature and tries to bold the necessity and beauty of the trees though recreating them in an artwork. My main concentration has been focused on the "Color of Sky" and "environment" through the empty spaces amongst the branches of the trees. I will do my best to develop imagining about the breath of a tree(inhale & exhale) to inspire the presence of a live creature, there.

The work would be done with natural materials and it would be assembled with wooden bars. This type of assembling would be more safe and reliable than any other methods.
