숲 속의 엔진톱  

엔진톱은 인간에게 존재하는 이중성을 상징한다: 선-악, 긍정-부정, 유용성-해로움. 인간은 자연에 대항하여 엔진톱을 가지고 일할 수 있다. 그러나 쓰러진 목재로 사람들은 집도 짓고, 가구도 만들고, 그 외 필요로 하는 것을 충족시킬 수 있다. 내 작품은 나뭇가지들로 만든 엔진톱이다. 내가 사용한 재료들은 실제 엔진톱을 사용하여 이 숲에서 미리 잘라 놓은 것들이다. 내 작품은 이런 이중적 해석의 특징을 가진다.

CHAINSAW IN THE FOREST

The chainsaw like motif symbolizes the duality which exists in human beings: Good-bad, positive-negative, useful-harmful. Man can work with a chainsaw against nature. However, from felled wood people can build houses, make furniture and serve the needs of the people. My work represents a chainsaw made from branches and twigs. These were cut some time before in this forest using the actual machine I am constructing. My work is characterized by this dual interpretation.
