둥지 Nest

내 의도는 구멍이 많은 새 둥지 모양의 셸터를 만드는 것이며, 사색의 장소로 쓰기도 하면서 주변의 자연을 감상할 수 있다. 이 셸터를 전망이 좋은 언덕 꼭대기에 놓을 수도 있고 개울이나 강 근처 등 숲 속 적당한 곳에 놓을 수도 있다. 이 셸터를 기하학적 구조와 둥지 모양으로 지어진 자연의 무질서한 담벼락 구조를 섞어 만들 예정이다. 구조물이 전체적으로 아주 가벼워서 나무 사이에 매달려고 한다. 가죽을 사용해 셸터 안으로 올라갈 수 있다. 가죽 아래 땅에 서서 입구를 쳐다보면 제임스 터렐의 작품 속에서 발견되는 것처럼 입구 구멍을 통해 하늘을 볼 수 있다. 이 작품을 통해, 나는 빛과 공간, 자연과 여러 가지 건물 구조 간의 관계를 탐구하고자 하였다.

My intention is to build a shelter in the form of bird nest with lot of openings. It will be a place for contemplation which opens a view on the surrounding nature. It could be placed on the top of the hill with a great view or some other significant area in the forest, like near the stream or river. It will be made in the contrast between the geometrical structure of the ground plan and more natural chaotic structure of the walls built in the form of the nest. Whole structure will be very light and hang in the air in between the trees. Leathers will be used for climbing up in the shelter. When you are on the ground under the leathers, looking up to the entrance would open a view on sky through the entrance hole in the sense like it was found in the work of James Turrell. Through this work I wanted to explore relation between the light and space, nature and different types of building structures.
