​<나무 아래에서 Under the Tree>

이 설치작품에서 나는 우리 삶의 자연, 산업, 예술/문화 등 세 가지 다른 측면들을 나타내고 싶다. 이 조각품은 나무에 붙어있고, 수천 개의 목재 피라미드에 의해 형성된다. 목재 피라미드는 가구디자인에서 사용되는 대량생산 제품이다. 이것의 디자인은 이슬람의 기하학적 무늬이다. 그 외에 거울처럼 반사하는 스테인리스스틸이 피라미드에 부착되어 있으며, 이는 보는 각도에 따라 다양한 상을 보여주며 환경 혹은 관람객과 상호 작용한다.

이 작품에서 나는 인간과 자연 사이에서 우리가 어떻게 자연을 정복하고, 이익을 얻고, 자연에서 영감을 얻는지의 세 가지 다른 관계를 보여주려 한다. 피라미드에 부착된 거울은 숲 주변 풍경을 반사하기도 하고, 흡수하기도 하면서, 사람들 그리고 자연과 상호작용한다. 그것은 우리에게 우리 자신들과 자연을 되돌아볼 새로운 시각을 제공한다.

The art installation attempt to represent three different sector in our living environment today, which is Nature, Industrial and Art/Culture. In this artwork, the sculptures are attached with the tree and form by thousands of wooden pyramids. The wooden pyramid is a machine cut, mass produce product that used in furniture design and made by wood. The design is believed that inspired by the Islamic Geometrical pattern. Besides that, there are mirrored stainless steel attaching the pyramid which created different reflection angle and interact with the environment or audiences.

In this work, the artist trying to show three different relationships between human and nature which is how we conquered, benefit and inspired by the Nature. The mirror on the pyramids not only reflecting but also absorb the surrounding in the forest and interact with the people and nature. It somehow providing a new perspective for us to review ourselves and the nature.
