내 작품의 컨셉은 이번 비엔날레의 주제에서 착안한 것이다. 그 주제를 나름대로 해석하여 내 작업에 적용시키려 고심하던 중, 낯설게 행동하는 동물들, 세상에 존재하지 않는 동물들이라는 아이디어가 떠올랐다. 그렇게 만들어진 ‘날아다니는 털복숭이 물개’, ‘걸어다니는 돌고래’, ‘날아다니는 기린’같은 동물들이 부분적 비유라 하겠다. 이 연작은 개체의 계층적 성장에서 복수체의 비계층적 성장으로 자연에 대한 우리의 인식을 전환할 것을 요구한다. 개개의 동물들은 복수체의 일부로서 그 보다 더 포괄적인 대자연을 이룬다.

My concept is all about your theme... I was thinking about understanding it and interpretive it in my projects - so I come out with and idea of strange acting animals - no existing at here.

Context “Flying Fur Seal”, “Walking dolphin”, “flying giraffe” are a metaphor. animals reference a part of the whole. The projects demands we transform our recognition of nature, from the standard hierarchical growth of an individual to the non-hierarchical growth of as part of a multiplicity. Individual animals form the nature, is part of the multiplicity that is the more all inclusive Mother Earth.
