​<이분법의 어머니 Mother of Dichotomy>

이 설치작품은 한국의 야생화들과 식물들이 한편에 있고, 다른 한편에는 컴퓨터 본체기판들로 이루어져 있다. 시간이 흐르면서, 자연과 식물들, 꽃, 잡초 등이 이 기판들을 잠식할 것이다. 이상적으로 컴퓨터 본체기판들은 사람들의 이야기를 담아 기부를 통해 들어올 것이다. 각 기판은 컴퓨터의 역사, 담고 있는 이야기가 각기 다르다.

작품의 받침대는 눈이나 낙엽이 쌓이는 것을 방지하기 위해 수직으로 세울 수 있다.

‘이분법의 어머니’는 만다라와 통합과 종결의 상징, 음양(陰陽)과 같은 원 안에 있는 복잡한 연결성과 더불어, 그 기원과 자연에 대한 연결성, 그리고 그 치유력을 축복하는 것이다. 그것은 인간의 뇌, 컴퓨터, 인터넷, 그리고 버섯과 뿌리로 구성된 숲의 지하 “커뮤니케이션 네트워크”의 복잡한 연결 관계들을 나타낸다. “본체” 기판은 컴퓨터의 핵심 부품이다. 대자연이 이 본체기판들을 덮게 되고, 기판 속에 들어있는 역사는 누구에게도 접근을 허용하지 않는 낡은 부품이 되어 버린다. 컴퓨터의 장치 없이 이 기판은 작동되지 않기 때문이다.

또 다른 가능성은 문화를 나타내는 원의 반을 기부받은 도자기로 채우는 것이다. 도자기는 사람들의 역사와 도자기 역사를 담고 있다. 두 버전은 모자이크 기법으로 시멘트에 새겨져 수백 년을 견딜 것이다.

This installation will contain wild typical Korean flowers and plants on one side and a landscape of motherboards on the other side. Slowly the motherboards will be overgrown by nature and the invasive plants, flowers and weeds will dominate the dress-like sculpture. The motherboards shall ideally come from donations with stories of their owners, featuring the time span the computer was used and some example of the stories they hold like an energetic information.

The platform can also stand up vertical to avoid accumulation of snow and leaves.

Mother of Dichotomy celebrates the origin and the connection to nature and its healing powers, as well as complex connections in the circle, like a Mandala and a symbol for unity and closure, Yin and Yang. It reflects the intricate connections in the human brain, in computers and the Internet and the underground "communication networks" in the forest through mushrooms and roots. The “mother” boards an essential element in the computer, is overgrown by mother nature’s beauty and their history inside the computer still holding the information, but inaccessible to anyone as an obsolete part unable to function without the device they are in.

Another possibility is that the half of the circle referring to culture is made from donated porcelain, featuring the stories of the people and the donated dishes. Both versions are embedded in cement and this mosaic technique lasts hundreds of years.
