<유기적 관계망 – 한 평 식물 탐구로부터 시작된 시간여행>은 채집된 야생식물 씨앗을 통해 ‘모든 생명은 연결되어 있다.’는 유기적 관계망 속에서 과거와 현재를 연결하는 시간성을 이끄는 설치 작업이다. 현재 “제주에서 흔히 보이는 소리쟁이 야생식물이 백제 시대 공주로부터 기원 된 것은 아닌가” 하는 질문에서 연결고리를 찾는다. 특히 소리쟁이 한 뿌리에서 6만 개의 씨앗을 얻을 수 있고, 그 씨앗이 80년 이상 흙 속에 살아있다가 끊임없이 땅 위로 발아되는 생태의 특성에 주목한다. 흙 그 자체가 역사의 긴 시간을 품고 있는 종자 은행인 것이다.

‘Organic Network – Time Travel Which Began with the Exploration of 1 Pyeong of Plants’ is an installation artwork to lead the temporality connecting past and present in the organic network, ‘all living things are connected’ through the collected seeds of wild plants. Now, I am looking for the connection on the question, “would’t the wild sorrel that can be found in Jeju easily be originated from Gongju in Baekje?” In particular, I pay attention to the fact that one root of sorrel can generate 60,000 seeds and each seed lives over 80 years under the ground to be seamlessly germinated over the ground. The ground itself is the seed bank to contain the long history.
