<엉겅퀴 Thistle>

2년 전, 내 잔디밭에서 거대한 엉겅퀴가 자라는 걸 발견해서 화분에 옮겨 심고 지켜봤다. 작년엔 그 식물이 아주 큰 꽃을 피웠고, 그 꽃은 씨앗으로 변했다. 

나는 가능한 한 많은 씨앗을 채집했다. 엉겅퀴는 (역사적으로) 약용으로 쓰인 중요한 식물이며, 나는 이 잡초를 되살리려는 더 큰 프로젝트의 일부로 이 일을 하고 있다.

Two years ago I found a giant thistle growing in my lawn so I potted it and watched it grow. 

Last year it had a huge blossoming flower that turned to seeds, and I captured as many as I could. 

This plant is significant for its (historical) medicinal use and part of my larger project to rehabilitate the weed.
