<편마암 Gneiss Rock>

편마암은 변성암의 한 종류이다. 높은 압력과 높은 온도에서 형성된다. 이 암석의 특징적인 점은 어두운 줄무늬와 밝은 줄무늬가 번갈아 나타나는 것이다. 

편마암은 줄무늬가 있는 작은 자갈 형태로도 나타나고, 예를 들어 노르웨이 서부처럼 거대한 줄무늬 산으로도 나타날 수 있다.

Gneiss is a type of metamorphic rock. It forms under high pressure and high temperature. A characteristic feature of this rock is the presence of alternating dark and light stripes.

Gneiss can appear both as small striped pebbles and as giant striped mountains, for example, in western Norway.
