이행지대 Ecotone

생태학에서 '이행지대'는 서로 다른 생태계가 만나 경계를 이루는 공간이다.

 작품은 수풀더미처럼도, 돌처럼도, 혹은 인공 구조물처럼도 보이지만 어느 하나로 명확히 규정되지 않는다. 

자연과 인공, 비인간과 인간의 개입이 맞닿는 경계의 존재인 것이다. 

표면을 감싸는 은은한 빛 페인팅은 햇볕이 지나간 흔적을 담는다. 

햇볕은 단순히 사물을 비추는 빛이 아니라 도시 속에서도 생명을 작동시키고 환경을 변화시키는 자연의 흐름의 방식이다. 

이 작은 존재는 인간과 자연이 서로 다른 존재가 아니라 하나의 생태계 안에서 함께함을 상징한다.

In ecology, an "ecotone" is a space where different ecosystems meet to form a boundary. 

This work resembles a pile of bushes, a rock, or even an artificial structure, yet it cannot be clearly defined as any single one. 

It is a presence at the boundary where nature and the artificial, and the interventions of the non-human and the human, meet. 

The subtle light painting that wraps around the surface captures the traces of sunlight as it passes by. 

Sunlight here is not merely light that illuminates objects; it is a way of nature's flow that sustains life and transforms environments even within the city.

This small existence symbolizes that humans and nature are not separate entities, but are together within a single ecosystem.
