<세상의 갈기 엮기> Weaving the World’s Mane

이 작품은 풀을 엮는 행위를 통해 존재의 상호연결성을 표현한 설치작품이다. 

먼저 여러 개의 작은 땋은 구조를 개별적으로 만든 뒤, 이를 서로 연결하고 하나로 모은다. 이렇게 만들어진 구조들은 다시 서로 엮이며, 점차 하나의 통일되고 유기적인 전체를 형성한다.

이러한 과정을 통해 수많은 작은 연결의 네트워크는 살아 있는 유기체의 움직임과 생명의 흐름을 연상시키는 연속적이고 유동적인 구조로 변화한다. 전시 공간에 설치된 작품은 일종의 ‘창’이 되어, 내부와 외부, 개인과 집단, 인간과 자연 사이를 매개하는 경계이자 통로가 된다. 풀의 유기적인 구조는 실내 공간에 자연의 감각을 불러들이며, 관객이 작품을 단순히 바라보는 데 그치지 않고 몸과 감각을 통해 경험하도록 이끈다.

This work is an installation made from grass that expresses the interconnectedness of existence through the act of braiding. Many small braids are first created individually, then connected and brought together. These structures are subsequently braided together again, gradually forming one unified and cohesive whole.

Through this process, a network of many small connections transforms into a continuous, flowing structure that evokes the movement of a living organism and the flow of life. When presented within a gallery space, the work becomes a kind of “window” — a mediating threshold between interior and exterior, the individual and the collective, and human beings and nature. The organic structure of the grass brings a sense of nature into the interior, inviting the audience not only to observe the work but also to experience it through the body and the senses.
