<철학자의 동물지> Philosopher's Bestiary

동물을 본래의 자연환경에서 떼어내 흰 배경 앞에 놓으면, 화려하고 기묘한 무늬를 지닌 존재로 보이곤 한다. 그러나 다시 자연으로 돌려보내면 주변 환경에 녹아들어 흐릿해지고, 마치 사라지는 것처럼 보인다. 누군가 자신이 보이지 않는 존재라고 느끼는 

순간, 오히려 자신의 진정한 모습을 드러내기 시작한다.

이 작품은 중세의 동물지(動物誌)나 19세기 자연사 삽화를 연상시키면서도, 보다 크고 역동적이며 강렬한 색채로 동물들을 표현한다. 작품 속 동물들은 인간의 내면을 들여다보는 창과 같다. 동물들을 통해 인간의 영혼을 비추고, 그 모습을 바라보며 우리의 

삶을 되돌아볼 수 있도록 한다.

When an animal is removed from its natural environment and put in front of white background, it often appears colorful and strangely patterned. However, if you put it back into nature, it blurs into its natural surroundings and seems to 

disappear. As soon as someone feels invisible, they start to show their true self.

Reminiscent of medieval bestiaries or natural history ink drawings of the 19th century, but larger, more energetic and colorful. The animals feel like windows inside the human mind, shining a light on the soul so we can reflect our life 

through them.
