〈27개의 방〉은 2019년부터 지속해온 연작으로, 도시 건축물의 이미지가 금속 격자를 통해 반사·왜곡되며 응시의 환영을 만들어내는 영상 설치이다. 이번 전시에서는 1970~80년대 개발 시대 중산층의 삶을 상징했던 양옥집의 경사 지붕, 아치형 창문, 발코니, 담장과 대문의 이미지와 도시 곳곳의 식물을 병치한다. 줌인과 줌아웃을 반복하는 이미지는 금속 표면에서 분절되고 증식되며, 역사적 기억과 자본주의적 도시 풍경을 중첩된 시공간으로 환원한다. 도시 식물은 그 풍경 속에서 지속되는 생명력과 연대의 

가능성을 드러낸다.

27 Rooms is a video installation series that I have developed since 2019, in which images of urban architecture are reflected and distorted through a metal grid, creating an illusion of the gaze. For this exhibition, images of the sloped roofs, 

arched windows, balconies, walls, and gates of the detached houses that symbolized middle-class life during Korea’s development era of the 1970s and 1980s are juxtaposed with images of plants growing throughout the city. As the images 

slowly zoom in and out, they are fragmented and multiplied across the metal surface, transforming historical memory and the capitalist urban landscape into a multilayered experience of space and time. The urban plants suggest the vitality and possibility of solidarity that persist within this landscape.
