<사랑했다고 말한다.> Says It was Love.

이 작업은 일상 속에서 자연을 다루는 인간의 방식과 그 내면에 자리한 모순적인 생태 감각을 드러낸다. 오늘날 자연은 있는 그대로의 존재라기보다 인간의 필요와 욕망에 따라 탄소 흡수원, 자원의 장소, 관광지 등 기능적으로 구성된 대상으로 인식된다. 

우리는 자연을 있는 그대로 마주하기보다 인간의 필요와 욕망에 의해 의미가 부여된 대상으로 바라보고, 이러한 시선은 자연과 맺는 관계를 끊임없이 규정한다.

식물을 화분에 담는 행위 역시 돌봄과 보호의 모습 이면에 자연을 소유하고 통제하는 욕망을 내포한다. 작가는 식물의 잎과 플라스틱 화분을 바늘과 실로 꿰매어 연결함으로써 이러한 구속의 구조를 가시화한다. 인공과 자연을 잇는 바느질은 상처와 치유를 

동시에 의미하며, 통제와 순응, 죄책과 애정이 교차하는 관계를 드러낸다.

이어지는 느린 돌봄의 과정은 인간의 시간과 자연의 시간이 만나는 지점에서 새로운 관계와 치유의 가능성을 모색한다.

This work reveals the ways in which humans engage with nature in everyday life and the contradictory ecological sensibilities embedded within them. Today, nature is perceived less as something that exists in its own right than as a functional 

entity shaped according to human needs and desires — as a carbon sink, a site of resources, a tourist destination, and so on. Rather than encountering nature as it is, we tend to perceive it as something whose meaning is defined by human 

needs and desires, and this perspective continually shapes the relationships we form with the natural world.

The act of placing plants in pots likewise embodies a desire to possess and control nature beneath its appearance of care and protection. By stitching plant leaves to plastic pots with needle and thread, the artist makes this structure of constraint visible. The act of sewing, which connects the artificial with the natural, signifies both wounding and healing, revealing a relationship in which control and compliance, guilt and affection intersect.

The slow process of care that follows explores the possibility of new relationships and healing at the point where human time and nature’s time meet.
