<긴장> Tension

〈긴장〉은 약 7미터 높이의 대형 조각 설치 작품으로, 위를 향해 움직이는 순간의 동물과 같은 형상으로 구상되었다.

이 작품은 긴장과 균형, 상승을 향한 열망을 탐구하며 지면에 단단히 뿌리내린 힘과 변화를 향한 본능적 충동을 동시에 보여준다. 동물의 본능적인 자세와 물리적 긴장감을 통해 관람객이 작품을 직관적이고 신체적으로 체감하도록 유도한다.

3개의 다리로 지지된 열린 구조는 관람객이 작품 내부를 걸어 지나갈 수 있게 하며, 길게 뻗은 목을 따라 시선을 자연스럽게 하늘로 향하게 만든다. 철제 프레임이 튼튼한 골격을 이루는 가운데 세로로 배치된 대나무는 긴장된 근육처럼 작용하여 가벼움과 

유연성, 생동감을 더한다. 거대한 규모에도 불구하고 이러한 열린 구조는, 지면에 뿌리내린 상태와 변화 사이에서 마치 이 공간을 지나쳐 가는 듯한 일시적인 존재감을 선사한다.

Tension is a large-scale sculptural installation, approximately seven meters high, conceived as an animal-like figure captured in upward movement.

The work explores tension, balance, ascent, and aspiration, combining strength and grounding with an impulse toward movement and transformation. Drawing on animal movement and instinct, its posture and physical tension invite an intuitive and embodied experience.

Standing on three legs, the open structure allows visitors to walk through and look upward through the elongated neck toward the sky. Steel provides the structural framework, while longitudinally arranged bamboo acts like tensed muscles, 

bringing lightness, flexibility, and movement. Despite its monumental scale, the open construction makes the figure feel temporary, suspended between grounding and transformation.
